Review + $100 FREE: Little Black Bag

4 Feb

Because I have been identified as an influential college student by Sumpto, I was selected to try Little Black Bag for free. I was not obligated in any way to write a review on my blog, but I loved it so much and was so impressed that I knew I had to share this amazing website with all of you! So what is Little Black Bag? It’s a kind of flash sale site (with a monthly subscription option too!) that features current season bags from designer brands like BCBGeneration and Badgley Mischka to Deux Lux and Steve Madden at up to 70% off retail. They also carry designer jewelry, beauty products, and home goods as well! The fun part is that after you select the item you want to buy, a personal stylist will select bonus merchandise between $25-$75 in value from the site to include with your purchase .

LBB

Your bonus items are revealed to you online as soon as the purchase is complete, and you have several days to decide whether you want to keep the items or swap them with other users on the site. I initially purchased the Izzy + Ali Michelle Bucket Bag and was gifted the Geranium Bambi Stud Earrings and the Jardin Oval Ring, but through a series of trades ended up swapping my items for the Olivia + Joy Dynamo Double Handle Satchel and the Flea Market Girl Peace Sign Necklace. New items are added to the site almost every day, so each night I would check back to see if I wanted to swap for a new item that I loved more. I am obsessed with the two things I ended up with and loved using Little Black Bag!

Want to try it out for yourself and get a special code for up to $100 in bonus merchandise? All you have to do is sign up with Sumpto. It’s easy and free, and you’ll have access to this deal until Feb. 10! Here are a few other bags I’m currently loving from Little Black Bag:

Koret Snake Charmer tote, originally $135.

Pink Cosmo Studded Satchel, originally $70.

Penny Sue Foldable Florence Tote, originally $89.

What are your favorite items on Little Black Bag right now? Have you ever tried the site? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

Long time no see!

31 Jan

It’s been 6 weeks since I last posted and so much has happened since then. I have so much to share! In December, I traveled to Ft.Worth for a much needed girls weekend with my best friend Cassie (check out her adorable blog here), was visited by my pledge sister Leanna for a whirlwind few days in Austin, spent some qt with the fambam, and went to Vail for new year’s with some college friends. Since coming back for my last semester of college, I have been committing myself to power yoga and making some postgrad plans for summer and the real world! Oh and toss in a few concerts here and there. Here are some pics while we play catch up :)

Got into some trouble with the bestie :)

Went to see Slightly Stoopid with my roommate Hayley!

I’m so excited to get back to blogging and share my life with you… exciting things coming up, including spending the summer abroad :) Thanks for sticking with me y’all.

Today’s Marshall’s Haul!!

12 Dec

P.S. Don’t forget to enter my Pea Pod Paper & Gifts Giveaway, only 2 more days!!

It’s been a while since I took a stroll through Marshall’s, (read: writing my senior thesis prevented me from seeing the light of day for the past four months so thank the lord that’s over) so I was excited to spend a leisurely afternoon searching for deals with my mom now that I’m home in Austin for winter break. You can never go into Marshall’s looking for something specific, and yet you always find something new that you need! In addition to the things I found below, they also were fully stocked with Juicy Couture jackets, Michael Kors trench coats, and Cynthia Rowley dresses. Miraculously, I left the story without purchasing any clothes… but here’s what I scored instead:

I scored a gold Cynthia Rowley clutch for $24.99 almost identical to this $58 Lilly Pulitzer version that I was lusting over at the store yesterday! This will be the perfect clutch for NYE and is just big enough for my phone and new digital camera that Mom and Dad gave me for Hanukkah :)

I scored two packages of 10 lilly Pulitzer notecards for only $4.99 each, regular price $20 each on the website. These are going to make lovely stationary for writing sweet notes to go with holiday gifts, as well as sending out thank yous! I love handwritten correspondence.

Last but definitely not least, I was absolutely shocked to see a copy of one of my favorite blogger’s books in the book section for $4.95, even though it’s still available at Target for $18.95. My Mom The Style Icon collects vintage photos of readers’ moms to highlight retro fashion and offer equivalents for today. It is a fabulous blog and this will make a perfect coffee table book!

Overall I was really happy with all of these finds and I know they will be put to great use. Some of them would even make fabulous gifts! Have you found anything fabulous at Marshall’s, T.J. Maxx, or Homegoods recently?

Save or Splurge: Timex for J.Crew and Target!

11 Dec

P.S. Don’t forget to enter my awesome Pea Pod Paper & Gifts Giveaway this week!!!

I am loving the retro look of the Timex for J.Crew collaboration, but at the $150 – $195 price point, they’re a little hefty for something that I don’t want to wear all the time. Luckily, this season there is also a fabulous Timex capsule collection for Target called Mix it, Switch it, Love it that is way more in line for ladies on a budget! Compare the two lines below and share your opinion in the comments: would you save or splurge on this one??

Timex for J.Crew Vintage Field Army Watch, $150.

Timex for Target Weekender Slip Through Watch in Olive, $34.99. (P.S. the straps are changeable and only cost $6.99 each!)

Timex for J.Crew 1600 Watch, $195.

Timex Round Case Watch, $39.99. (P.S. this version also has changeable straps which are just $9.99 each!)

It’s really interesting to see how the collections are so similar. I love that Timex does different collaborations for people with varying budgets. What are your favorite pieces from the collections? Would you spend or save on these?

Review + Giveaway: Pea Pod Paper and Gifts!!!

7 Dec

I am so excited to announce a fabulous product review and giveaway this week courtesy of Pea Pod Paper and Gifts! When Susan offered to send me the Corkcicle, I was so excited. Not only was it featured in O Magazine’s Oprah’s Favorite Things this year, but it also is the perfect accessory for one of my favorite things – wine. This item would make a cute stocking stuffer and is the perfect present for literally everyone on your holiday list this year! I was ecstatic when I saw that Susan sent me a pink one, but they come in every color of the rainbow :) The corkcicle is a wine stopper and cooler all in one. You put it in the freezer, and then place it inside an open bottle of wine so that it stays perfectly chilled while you take your time enjoying.  I absolutely loved it and definitely would recommend it to all, and now you have the opportunity to win one of your very own! Simply follow this link to enter the giveaway through Rafflecopter! The giveaway will be open until next Friday, December 14th. The winner will be announced next weekend.

New Product Crush: Güd by Burt’s Bees

23 Nov

I was roaming the aisles of Target the other day when something new caught my eye. I was looking for a new body wash to try when I spotted Güd products, a new line by Burt’s Bees brand. They all smelled wonderful, but I went home with the Vanilla and Rice Milk body wash and am absolutely in love! Not only is my skin the softest it’s ever been, but I love that it is made of all natural ingredients with no petro chemicals, or artificial dyes or fragrances. If you “like” them on Facebook this week, you can even get a $1 off coupon so that you can try them out too! So far my impression of this new line is fabulous and I can’t wait to try out more of their products. Have you tried any of the Güd products? What did you think? Which flavor is your favorite?
